Apple Wallet and Google Wallet: what customers see

Getting started

The same card in two different wallets, and the one difference that explains most questions about it.

It is one card. Which wallet it lands in depends on the phone, and almost everything about it is the same either way.

The same on both

  • Your business name, your logo and your colours.
  • The stamps collected so far and the reward being worked towards.
  • A code for you to scan at the counter.
  • No app to download, and no account to sign in to.

The one difference worth knowing

How the card catches up after you add a stamp. A Google Wallet card is updated as the stamp is recorded. An Apple Wallet card is a copy kept on the phone, so LoyalPack nudges the phone as the stamp is recorded and the phone fetches the new version, usually within a few seconds. A phone that is switched off or out of signal catches up once it is back.

So if an iPhone customer says their card looks a stamp behind, it almost certainly is not: the count LoyalPack holds is the real one, and we nudge the pass again on our own until it catches up. Their card page always shows the true number.

The card page works too

Not every customer wants a pass in their wallet, and they do not need one. The card page itself is the card: it has the code you scan and the running count, and they can bookmark it or add it to their home screen so it opens in one tap.

A LoyalPack card is a loyalty card only. It is not a payment card, it holds no money, and it does nothing at a contactless reader.

Still stuck?

If none of this covers it, send us a message and a person will reply. Tell us what you were doing when it went wrong, and we can usually sort it in one message.

So we can reply. We use it for nothing else.

Optional. Handy if it is quicker to talk it through.

A few words, such as: stamps not showing on a card.

What you were doing, what you expected, and what happened instead.
