What they do need
- A phone that can open a web page. Any reasonably recent one will do.
- A way to reach your sign-up page: the camera to scan your QR code, or the link if you have sent it to them.
- Whatever your Program asks for on that page. Out of the box that is a first name and an email address, and the address is how LoyalPack recognises them if they come back to sign up again. You can turn either off, and a Program that asks for neither needs nothing but the tap.
What they do not need
- An app. There is nothing to download.
- A password or an account to sign in to.
- Apple Wallet or Google Wallet. Adding the card there is nicer, but the card works as an ordinary web page either way.
- Any payment details. A LoyalPack card is a loyalty card, and it holds no money.
If their camera will not scan
Some older phones will not read a QR code from the camera app. Your sign-up link is ordinary text, so you can read it out, write it down or send it in a message and they can type it in.
A customer with no smartphone cannot hold a LoyalPack card, because the card is a page on a phone. That is worth knowing before you take a paper scheme away entirely.
