On the Free plan, LoyalPack App keeps you posted at the one moment you are looking at it: as you go to scan the next customer. It never interrupts a card that is already on screen, and it says nothing at all on Pro.
Under twenty customers
A small strip appears over the top of the camera when you open Scan or start the next customer, with your count against the twenty-five the Free plan includes and an Upgrade to Pro button. Close it, swipe it away, or leave it and it goes on its own after a few seconds. Scanning does not wait for it.
From twenty to twenty-five
Before each new scan the app asks once, with your exact count, and offers two answers: Upgrade to Pro, or Remind me later. Choose one and carry on. Remind me later means exactly that: the next customer brings the same question, and nothing about scanning, stamps or rewards changes in between.
Past twenty-five, in the extra week
Your twenty-sixth customer starts a seven-day window in which the counter keeps working: customers can still join, and cards can still be scanned, stamped and have rewards spent, while the Dashboard, Programs and Customer Cards pages on the website close until you upgrade. Wallet cards keep updating and your automatic messages carry on through the window. Before each new scan the app names the exact date and time the window ends, in UK time, and how long that is from now, and says that after it sign-ups, scanning, adding stamps and spending rewards stop too. The same two answers apply. The count and the deadline come from LoyalPack itself, not from the phone.
After the window
The camera and the code box give way to one message, Free plan limit reached, and one button, Upgrade to Pro. A scan cannot go through in this state, so the app does not offer one. Nothing is deleted: your customers, their stamps and their rewards are kept, and cards already in wallets stay readable.
Who can upgrade, and where
Upgrade to Pro opens Billing on the LoyalPack website in your phone browser, where you choose monthly or annual and pay through Stripe. If the browser does not know you yet it asks you to sign in first, by any of the usual ways; finish the sign-in in that same browser and it brings you back to Billing. Only the account owner or an Administrator can change the plan, so a Team Member who taps Upgrade to Pro is told who to ask instead of being sent to a page that refuses them. On some app stores the button cannot open the website at all; the app then tells you to sign in to LoyalPack on the web and open Account, then Billing.
The app checks the plan again every time it comes back to the front, so once the upgrade has gone through the notices simply stop.
